"The one had leaves of dark green that beneath were as shining silver, and from each of his countless flowers a dew of silver light was ever falling, and the earth beneath was dappled with the shadows of his fluttering leaves. The other bore leaves of a young green like the new-opened beech; their edges were of glittering gold. Flowers swung upon her branches in clusters of yellow flame, formed each to a glowing horn that spilled a golden rain upon the ground; and from the blossom of that tree there came forth warmth and a great light. Telperion the one was called in Valinor.... ; but Laurelin the other was... and many names in song beside."
JRR Tolien Silmarillion
: f the Beginning of Days::

From these trees were made the Silmarils, and upon their destruction, the last blossom of Telperion was made the Moon, and the fruit of Laurelin the Sun. One Silmaril cast upon Earendils crown, to set sail into the stars and to forever cast their light on the children of Iluvitar, the people of Middle Earth.
Now that is beautiful...amazingly beautiful. It's kind of how I did imagine the two trees of Valinor. How did you do that? Make it match my imagination so well?
Yay, I'm glad I've finally got the chance to see it. Excellent job with the colour tones, variations and contrasts. The light from each seems real, but yet they differ in radiance. Also, I noticed the tree's name on the borderwork (excellent as well), and that for me just finishes off the picture perfectly. Such an impressive image, and one that deserves attention.
Please draw more Tolkien - from what I can tell, you'll be great at it!
Whoa... what a great picture! And what a fantastic Tolkien-feeling! A very nice interpretation of Valinor. Love it! +fav
