Very nicely done! The blue streaky painting effect is wonderful.

Thanks Andrea! :D

Actually lucked out with those streaks, I carved them into the leather and put blobs of very wet blue paint at the tops and just let it run down into the cracks! =D

So far that technique hasnt been completely successful (I do it with my dragons too to make the scales stand out).... but on this one it worked perfectly! :)

I use that technique all the time. It's called "antique staining" and you can buy antiqueing acrylics for just that purpose from Tandy Leather Company.

You might try a small botte of black, just to see if you like it. I use that method on almosrt every not-white mask I do. It really makes your carving pop. Check out the link:

You can use it safely right over your paint...the excess wipes off but leaves stain behind in your carving & in creases, adds texture & depth. It saves a TON of time too. Give it a try. :-)
